Ahmad Bilal

About me

I am a Software Engineer focused on building high quality and intuitive Full Stack Web Applications, Developer tools, CLIs and whatever comes in between.

Here is a brief detail on my interests and experiences.

My Backpack

Currently, this is the stack that I dabble around the most with:

  • Next.js
  • Vercel
  • MongoDB
  • Node.js
  • React
  • Tailwind
  • Python
  • JavaScript 💙

Open Source and Google Summer of Code

I often find myself contributing to Open Source Softwares, with contributions to many stellar projects. I got selected in an Open Source program Google Summer of Code 2019 for an internship period of 3 months. I built and deployed a licensing plugin for the Creative Commons. Built with php and react, the plugin is currently used by 1000+ websites. I completed the program successfully with positive reviews from my mentors as well as reviewers from GSoC.

Ahmad has enthusiastically embraced all guidance. His attention to detail and passion for excellence has been refreshing. Ahmad's demeanor has been communicative, kind, and professional.

Writing

I write about my experiences, progamming guides, learning curves and more on my blog. I also write and curate content at TheDevCouple.

Talks

I love organizing, attending and speaking on tech conferences (see the cover image above? 😉). My most recent talk was about GitHub Actions, in WordSesh which is attended by a large number of developers every year.

My personal favorite talk of the day was Ahmad Bilal's introduction to Github Actions. Without wasting time, we were given a complete explanation of what they are, how they work, and a demonstration of adding one to an existing project.
